I will stay in the van and process animals while Stan and Dave look for salamanders. 1345 hrs. Completed processing 11 animals. Eight Pleurotus mexicanus from Ojo de Agua, 2 P. mexicanus from Cuantlapan, and a Signodon also from Ojo de Agua. Stan and Dave have also returned; collected some Thoin and another genus. We plan to drive to the Puerto del Aire local so I can set traps and try to pick up more P. thomasi, hopefully in good condition. 1505 hrs Arrived Puerto del Aire local. I will set as many traps as I have with no animals already in them (ca 85). 1710 hrs Completed setting the traps. They were placed in areas surrounding the spot where the first P. thomasi was taken. 1820 hrs Arrived back at hotel in Orizaba 1950 hrs After supper, will try to call Barbara back in the US. 2200 hrs No luck getting through. 7 November 0700 hrs Arose, dressed and loaded vehicle for today's work 0830 hrs left hotel after breakfast for Puerto del Aire local.
