Dukes Regen 1981 Journal important form (genus Chrysotaila) and want to return tomorrow to collect for several more hours. I will therefore set traps here since will be returning 1730 hr. Completed setting 50 Sherman's in mature and secondary growth habitat on a southeast facing slope. Weather was sunny until ca 1650 hrs when fog rolled in. The habitat consists of mixed pine and deciduous trees (primarily oak). The forest has little understory, leaf litter ca. 20 cm in depth between forests (on hillside) and valleys of grass are situated dense brush and herbaceous plants ca. 7.5-2 m in height. Mint family and elderberries. Numerous trails in area; cows, sheep, cattle and pigs nearby. Area looks good for P. boylii. Agave plants growing around pastures. Many bromeliads in trees. The forest floor is damp, but not wet. 1920 hrs Returned to Hotel D'Orba in Orizaba. 2300 hrs After eating supper and feeding animals plan to turn in. We will check traps tomorrow morning at Puerta del Aire, (Steve Dave will hunt salamanders), then collect salamanders along the road for most of the day. 4 November 0700 hrs Arose, dressed, and cleared out of hotel room 0810 hrs Stopped for breakfast in Acultzingo 0840 hrs Arrived Puerta del Aire local,
