Duke & Rogers 1981 Journal 0830 hrs Returned from checking 60 traps with help from Dave. Collected a total of 12 animals (4 P. mexicanus, 2 M. guastiatus, 3 B. musculus, 1 Mus, 1 O. fulvicauda, and 1 Reithrodontomys mexicanus. Only Peromyscus mexicanus was taken in the forest. The Baiomys, Mus and Muictes were all taken in grass- brush adjacent to the forest. The Reithro and Oryzomy were taken inside brushy areas well away from the forest or cleared fields. The traps were set at the base of the Cerro Chico Huaxtho. 0855 hrs Completed picking up 20 shermans at a locality adjacent to a park. No animals were taken here. 0930 hrs Arrived at the town square in Fortin and eate breakfast 1200 hrs Arrived at a locality 2 km SW Huatusco. Dave and David looked for salamanders and came up with one between the two of them. 1630 hrs Drove from Huatusco to the locality Ajude Agua via MEX 131 to Fortin, then on the 150 cueto to Cordoba, Ca. Km E of Cordoba is a paved road (to Protreras) on the left hand side. Traveled along this road for 5km-then turn left onto a dirt road. Pass under railroad tracks for kms. 1800 hrs Set 50 shermans for Heteromys. 1940 hrs Arrived back at hotel Trobo in Cordoba.
