RUBBLE, D.O. 1990 Journal 8 Hastings Natural History Reservation, Monterey Co., Calif April 13 Returned to MC after lunch to take telemetry readings (see telemetry data)- Today was warm and sunny again. I reset only RC traps on the eastern half of the grid (column 12-18) since I am only interested in P O30. I opened up all remaining traps. Ran into a Crotalus near station 7,17. Reset all MC traps (except 9,6-9,9; 10,6-10,9) from 1800-1845h. @ 2100h - out checking traps on MC. Clean, mid locs. Good results - I removed the radio-collar from P 2048. Finished by 2215h. April 14 0645h - out checking traps on RC. Cte some high clouds, low 50's. Totally dismal results - I think this is the last trap occasion here. Started checking traps on MC by 0730h. Put a radio-collar on P O20 (see Telemetry Data). Finished by 0830h. Summary of results on MC 13(pm) 14(Am) # ind P.californicus 11 12 16 P.tuei 0 2 2 P.baylji 3 7 (new) 7 Penagathus 0 8 8 Neotoma 2 (new) 3 (new) 5 Returned to MC at 1400h to get radio-locations (see Telemetry Data). Today was another warm sunny day - Since there arent any mice on RC suitable for telemetry, I opened up all remaining traps on RC this afternoon. On grid MC I only want to catch 2044,B for telemetry, I only set columns 4,5,6 on rows 10-11. Finished setting these by 1830h. I intended to go out this evening, but I had to repair my last collar (unexpectedly) and didn't finish until almost midnight. Ill go out early instead.
