RIBBLE, D.O 1940 JOURNAL 7 Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co., Calif April 12 0645h - out checking traps on GRID RC. Clear, mid 40's, heavy dew. Moon is >3/4 full in eastern sky - very bright. Not many captures on RC. Finished checking traps by 0800h and proceeded to check traps on MC. Good results on MC. Finished by 1000h. Summary of Results: GRID MC GRID RC P. californicus 17 (3 new) 9 P. tuwei 2 - P. boylii 7 1 Perognathus 7 (1 new) 4 Neotoma 2 6 TOTAL 35 (4 new) 20 total Spent the rest of the morning and this afternoon at the Robinson House getting radio-collars ready, etc. Today was clear and warm (low 80's). I reset all RC traps from 16-10 30h and all MC traps from 17-1745h. 2145h - out on MC checking traps. Clear, low 60's, no moon yet. Fantastic results tonight. Put out 3 radio- collars, so I closed traps from 10, 10 -> 10, 10, and 9, 6 -> 9, 0. Finished by 2345h : April 13 01045h - out checking traps on RC. Clear and cool (upper 40's) Finished by 0800h and proceeded to check traps on MC. (Got radio-locations during and after checking traps [see telemetry data]) Finished by 1800h.
