Puzzles, D.O. 1940 Journal Hasting Reservation, Monckey Co., Calif. March 17 (cold) Plot of Neotoma to process (note that I recorded all under this morning trap occasion, despite that many were captured last night). We finished by 1030th. It was very sunny and warm by this time. I returned to Grid MC to try and get radio-locations on mice, but had no luck (see Telemetry data). Summary of trapping results GRID DE: P.californicus 11 13 15 P.borji 3 4 4 Perognathus 4 6 6 Sorex 2 2 dead 4 Eutamias 0 1 1 Neotoma 10 (3 new) 10 TOTAL 20 36 40 total GRID MC: P.californicus 10(5 new) P.truei 3(1new) P.borji 5(1new) TOTAL 18(7new) After lunch a breeze picked up and cooled things down (low 70's) I prepared the 2 Sorex mortalities in the afternoon, then reset all RC grid traps (except the drift fence traps) from 1530-1630, and MC traps from 1630-1800th. I also did some telemetry (see Telemetry data). Since the best bet for telemetry appears to be MC, tonight I'll check MC traps. 2130th - out checking traps on MC. It's clear, low 50's, no moon, beautiful night! Very good results tonight. Radio-called one more female tonight (see Telemetry data). Finished by 2300th.
