Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co., Calif.
April 30. This AM on GRID WB I reduced ♀1515, 38.5g, lact, st 15.12 with RED;
♀1175, 42g, post-lact, st 7.5 with GREEN; I returned ♂1488 to lab
to put in cage with 1429 (see below); caught ♂1518, st 10.8 with PURPLE

st 9.7 with PURPLE.
#1549 ♀ Mature, pregnant, post-lact, 54g. Ear-tagged. GRID WB, st 2, l.
Collected tissues in field and dusted RED upon release.
This AM on [illegible] RC drift fence, st E-B I reduced ♀0340, st 5.8w/ GREEN.
Lately this am I toe-clipped and collected <1cm tail tip from the♀♀
offspring I caught in traps on 28 April. Also put ♂1488 with
♀♀1429. Sought I plan on repatriating these mice. Tails were
clipped as follows:
♀♀1183 pups
#01000♂
#04000♂
#0180♀
tails marked
♂1183
#1000
etc/
down arrow
1 pup with pinna erect, other 2 still closed
♀♀1429
#01000♀ - pinna erect, more fully haired than above.
This afternoon while resetting traps I put the above mice families in their
cages out in the field (see Journal for locations). Covered each with tar paper,
and rocks.
This PM while checking traps I cracked open each cage; inserted
a piece of hardware cloth in the crack so they could climb-out.
In both cases the ♂s immediately jumped out, but the female
remained inside.
This PM on GRID WB2 I caught ♀1539 with very faint GREEN or
Blue-GREEN visible in its ears - Maybe offspring of 1175 or 1429?
Probably not 1429, but need to check D.A.!! Calculated 60 day old,
from 25 Feb - possible, 1175.
