ZUBBLO, D.O 1989 PROCERUS CALIFORNIUS Hasting Reservation, Monterey Co., Calif. Feb 22 This AM on GRID MC I dusted ♀ 1351, 3kg, barely lactating with ORANGE powder at Station 10, 14; and ♀ 1381, 43.5g, lactating with BROWN powder at st W-9 on the drift fence. Note that 1381 was pregnant 20 Feb, am. This PM on GRID MC I caught ♀ 1481 mm, st 10, 9; and ♀ 1467 um, st 10, 10; and ♂ # 1111, scrotal, st 9, 10; all covered with fresh ORANGE powder from 1351. Caught ♂ 1206, scrotal at 8, 4; covered with fresh RED powder (from 020). Caught ♂ #0260, drift fence W-9, covered with BROWN. Conducted a dyadic encounter between ♂/1206 (home) and ♂#0400 (visitor) at 8, 4. Boiling - definitely neutral. Feb 24 #1496 ♂ lmm, TWO. 22.5g. Ear-tagged. GRID MC, st 11, 5. Tissues coll. Covered with Purple powder :- offspring of ♀♀ 020 (11/86) This am I dusted the following animals after conducting dyadicals (see below) ♀ 020, PURPLE, st 10, 4; post-lactating. 41g. ♀ 1460, GREEN, 9, 17. lactating ♀ 1351, ORANGE, 9, 13. Lactating. This am (0530-0645) I conducted three dyadic trials - Note the arena worked fine, although it is a pain in the ass to lug around. Home Visitor Summary 1351 & lact 1464 ♂ 1351 ♀ barely dominant. 1111 ♂ 020♀ p-lact 1111 dominant because 020 very skittish (drift fence) 0260 ♂ 1460♀ lact 1460♀ clearly dominant. Feb 25 Caught ♂#040 This AM on GRID MC, st 10, 17 covered with fresh (GREEN) (from 1460). Conducted the following dyadic encounters this am, using a tape-recorder (much preferred!) Home Visitor Neutral encounter until after 10 min 040 ♂ 1464 ♂ 0180♀ 1351♀ 0180 clean aggressor, but 1351 jumped out at 4:16 1460♀ 1481mm♀ - 1460 clearly dominant. Note that 1481 was covered (ears, mouth, feet) with ORANGE, but after the encounter 2-3mm² patch of GREEN (from 1460) was visible on her flanks, particularly the right one.
