Pinos ~ 5 miles and then N to Monterey Submarine Canyon and then E over canyon to near Moss Landing to looM for petrel flocks (not present). Time: 0830-1445 Wind: 0-5 W (AM); 5-15 W (PM) water: fairly calm and flat AM; became rough and choppy PM sky: overcast AM, clear-sunny PM. Pinos - Crespi Pond; Esplanade Observers: Linda Hale Time: 0720-1400 Temp: 60-70 sky: overcast wind: 0-5 Comments: conditions looked ideal for vagrants but the Carmel R. had not a single vagrant and Crespi Pond had only a Chestnut-sided, on this same day there were dozens of vagrants on Pt.
