June 14 Pt. Reyes, Marin Co., Calif.: G(!): 1♂ + 2♀ in the
white myrtle patch in the gully just N. of Fish Docks; 2♂♂
and 1♀ in poison-hemlock gullies just SW of Nunes. All
the males were subadults - showed whitish patches in head
or back or brown primaries and rectrices (except black centrals).
June 21 Kingston Mountains, San Bernardino Co., Calif: 1♀ in Garrey thicket
at the base of the mountains.
June 23 East Mojave Desert: 2♂♂ at Ft. Piute - first-year birds. Associating
with 2♀♀ which are black headed but not typical birds, fairly
heavily streaked but with faint buffy wash = Rose-breasted ♀♀
