Reyes, Marin Co., Calif. : 1 singing ♂ in poison hemlock gully SW of Nunes Ranch - foraging in poison hemlock, "trunks" of bush lupines, and around fenceposts! Nov. 6 Monterey area, Monterey Co., Calif. : 1♀ - Carmel Rivermouth - outstanding views as close as 6 ft. Nov. 13 Monterey area : 1♀ - Carmel Rivermouth - exact same spot (on e. edge of sewage plant) as on Nov. 6. Other birders reported seeing one much nearer the Hwy 1 bridge not long after we had seen our bird - 2 birds probably present. We also saw a bird near Hwy 1 bridge on Nov. 6 which we had assumed was same bird as that near sewage plant Dec. 31 Montecito, Santa Barbara Co., Calif. : 1 imm. ♂ - (very heavy chest streaking, face mask, but no black throat)
