Remsen, J.V. 1977 Brown Thrasher Toxostoma rufum Oct.22 East Mojave Desert, San Bernardino Co., Calif.: 1 found roosting in dense Am. Elms at Kelso RR station - located by deep "chack" note. Oct.23 East Mojave Desert: 1 (same bird) Kelso - upperparts rufous brown, two white wingbars, pale iris, pale underparts with columns of dark brown streaks, slightly decurved bill. Extremely secretive and hard to see, spending most of its time in the middle of very densely foliaged Am. Elms (severely pruned). Oct.24 East Mojave Desert: 1-Kelso (same bird)
