Remsen, J.V. 1977 Scissor-tailed Flycatcher Muscivora forficata May 31 Oasis Ranch, Mono Co., Calif.: 1 in tall dead trees above the pond - spotted by John Sterling. The bird must have been an imm. since the tail was perhaps only 1/2-3/3 length of that of an adult. The bird was mostly pale grayish with some pale orange along the flanks. Wings were dark brownish. No orange shoulder patch visible.
