Remsen, J.V. 1977 American Golden Plover Pluvialis dominica Apr. 23 Santa Barbara area, Santa Barbara Co., Calif.: 1 at Devereaux Slough where it has been all winter; partial breeding plumage Sept. 5 Point Reyes, Marin Co., Calif.: G (dominica) along SW side of Drafle's Beach Rd. sept.6 Point Reyes: G (dominica) - (same birds, same spot) sept. 11 Monterey area, Monterey Co., Calif.: 1 along beach and rocks across road from Crespi Pond. This was a fulug, the first of this race I've seen in N. Calif. It was probably the yellowest shorebird I've ever seen - conspicuous yellow on face, chest, and upper belly as well as dorsal surface. Seemed smaller than P.d.dominica Sept.12 Monterey area: 1 - (same bird) Nov. 19 Pt. Reyes: 1 (dominica) - Drafle's Beach Rd.
