Made River Coal Mine, 157°25'W, 70°24'N, Alaska
A bird singing from the census plot north of St.
A.M. in the afternoon saw two together right along
the edge of the bluff. One singing by the coal mine.
20 June
One more singing from the village. Song from near
the coal mine.
21 June
Found a nest with 4 eggs under a tussock of
Elymus in a patch 1/3 foot tall Salix pulchra by
the coal mine. The female bird flushed gave no distraction
display and was very inconspicuous. A bird singing
along the river by the 1/3 ridge in the A.M.

5/7/ 4 eggs in the nest, a bird on.

the census plot.

At least one in the willows opposite camp.

Still incubating. Its tighter than before,

from the far side of the pleade.

The nest has yours now, but they are sweet,
not sure two days old.) probably only one. Beak seen
near the start of Phil's transect in the mid afternoon
