Comments: we decided to go to La Jolla specifically to look for pelagic birds
during the harsh storm. Many of the birds were seen very close to shore, including
the Ashy Storm-Petrel. The numbers of Fulmars, Parasitic Jaegers, and Black-legged
Kittiwakes were exceptional. All birds were seen moving south against the wind -
we never saw a bird going the opposite direction.
