Only second or third winter record for Calif. Oct. 11 Point Reyes, Marin Co., Calif.: 1 sub.-ad. (clear tail bands but not dark acc. to Binford enough underneath for adult) soaring above Schooner Bay and moving north (south wind). Basic Red-tail shape but striking black and white bands on tail.
