Bewick x Whistling Although the possibility of an escape probably can never be ruled out com- pletely (regardless of results of an avian check), this bird certainly met qualifications for being considered wild -- right time of year, migrant flock of wild Whistlings, no visible signs of pinioning or cage wear. If this individual is not considered to be a valid record because of the possibility of escape, then no Bewick's Swan in North America should ever be considered a valid record (except in Arctic).
