Nov. 19 1164 Sterling Av., Berkeley, Calif.: I seen at the feeder of Mr.
and Mrs. Clark Gleason, where it spent all of last winter,
and has returned again. Larger than Golden-crowned Sparrow; bill
bright pinkish; blackish on forehead, throat, and center of upper breast;
face buffy with only faint eye-line; underparts whitish with a few
spots on flanks; back streaked; two small pale wing-bars
