Remsen, J.V. 1975 Summer Tanager Piranga rubra May 4 Cimmaron River, Baca Co., Colo.: 1♀ seen from as close as 50 ft. for 2 minutes in cottonwood — an obvious♀ Piranga — greenish above and greenish-yellow below; wings slightly darker green than back with no obvious wing-bars; pale, wide but indistinct eye-ring; bill about size and shape of Western Tanager's. The breast seemed to have a faint tinge of orange or buff. May 13 Boulder area, Boulder Co., Colo.: 2 imm.♂ behind Bell Bros. on Arapahoe Rd. — incredible to see 2 of these vagrants at one spot. First bird — all red head, back, throat, breast; greenish belly and rump; greenish wings without wingbars. Second bird — head a dull reddish on face, chin, crown; a couple of red spots on center of breast and sides; rest of body greenish; no wingbars. Both birds were seen well and in good light.
