Blackburnian Warbler
Dendroica fusca
Sep. 12 Briggsdale, Weld Co., Colorado: 1 in (? or NBP ?) foraging rapidly
in grove of trees at Crow Valley Park. At first thought to be a
Townsend's (much closer resemblance than I'd anticipated), suspicion
was aroused by the slight orange shading to the yellow chest and
complete lack of any dark smudging across chest (only speckles on
sides and flanks)
Sep. 13 Horse Creek Res., Adams Co., Colo: 1 (? or NBP ?) foraging rapidly in
upper storey of cottonwoods along W. shore of reservoir. Seen very well
several times - pale 'V' on back, bright yellow throat and breast, two
white wingbars, cheek patch, pale center to crown, spots on sides.
