Short-billed Dowitcher
Limnodromus griseus
Sep. 15 Furnace Creek Ranch, Death Valley NM, Inyo Co., Calif.: 1 on golf course pond.
Call note heard distinctly after each flushing of the bird - a low "tew-tew"
or "tew-tew-tew"; rump and uppertail coverts with broken bands and
spots - no solid complete bars - this was seen several times at close
range as the bird flew directly away from me. Bill also looked short.
