Remsen, J.V. 1974 Bay-breasted Warbler Dendroica castanea June 3 Deep Springs Ranch, Inyo Co, Calif ; 1 ♂ (5) - first located when I heard a thin, high-pitched warbler song which I said was either Bay-breasted, (although I hadn't heard them for 8 years) Blackpoll or Cape May. I found it foraging slowly in the tops of a locust tree, and everyone got to see the blackish face, chestnut throat and sides, two wingbars, and creamy color extending up onto neck. Later it was relocated and seen within chestnut crown and 10' of the ground at which time the streaks on the back were also seen. See sight record report form for full description.
