Remsen, J.V. 1974 Magnolia Warbler Dendroica magnolia Jun. 1 Oasis Ranch, Mono Co., Calif : 1 BP seen as close as 15' - yellow underparts with ring of black streaks on breast; large white eyebrow; bluish upperparts, black cheek patch, large white area in secondaries, white tail spots. Seen by everyone else present. I first found it just 3' off ground in dense willow stand along ditch where it had apparently been bathing. Later disappeared in canopy of cottonwoods. Jun. 3 Deep Springs Ranch, Inyo Co., Calif : 1 BP - fantastic study at 20' for 3 min. Yellow underparts, white undertail coverts, rows of black spots on breast, bluish upperparts with blackish through eye and dark streaks on back, white eyebrow, tail -> white blackish, not formed - even length rectrices.
