Feb.24 San Pablo Creek, Orinda, Contra Costa Co, Calif: 1 carrying nesting material to hole 100' up in Monterey Pine.
May 5 Mines Rd + Del Puerto Cyn: 74 - seemed to be everywhere - nesting at all elevations and at any distance from agriculture. One nest with large young at San Antonio Junction. Tally on same route last year, 5-6-73, was [illegible] much, much lower - only 18. Most hole nesters (w. Bluebirds, V-g Swallows, woodpeckles), however, were all up in numbers over last year.
