Pinos about 2-3 miles. Many were in full breeding plumage, and most had at least some traces. Became suddenly scarce a few miles farther out, where Cassin's began to get common. Feb.2 Monterey Bay offshore boat trip: 1000, 100% of which were in breeding plumage. Nov.28 Monterey area; I seen from shore swimming off Cannery Row.
