Remsen, J.V. 1974 Peregrine Falcon Falco peregrinus Mar. 22 Bolinas Lagoon, Marin Co., Calif: I seen from distance coursing low over ocean cliffs and about 1 mile e. of Stinson Beach on Panoramic Hwy. Dec. 1 Nov. 29 Bolinas Lagoon: I very dark imm. at w. end of lagoon, observed from as close as 100'. This bird would fly out over a large concentration of ducks and other waterbirds, but did not attack, and was completely ignored by all except killdeers. Had he already made a kill and did the birds know that he wasn't hungry? Dec. 11 Bodega Bay, Sonoma Co., Calif: I brown-backed imm. stooped on a coot walking on a mudflat but was unsuccessful. Underparts apparently barred like adult - molting?
