Dec 30: All read "The Giver" by Lois Lowry. One child considered it boring; one found it too sad. Another said it was good but hard to understand. Jan 5: Read "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" by J.K. Rowling. Most enjoyed it; some thought it long and complicated.
