m. Reza, 1942 Journal Cedar Grove & Ink Kings R. 4,600ft., Fresno Co., Calif May 24, 1942 what different when we tried to steal them. Keep walking up the paved road and finally we got to a scorpions paradise; many small rocks & stones; getting logs; hot sun; and grass ants galore. Many small scorpions rushing about madly - also large ones which seemed to keep out of sight more. J. Crowley caught seven; I caught two very, very tiny ones. We walked back and reached camp at about 5:55. Did not get traps after dinner; for we (Josephine Crowley & I) are planning to hike up to the Calliope again tomorrow morning - Species seen included: White Heddled Woodpecker Mountain Chickadees Chipping Sparrow Western Tanagers Steller's Jay Western Robin Cozyee Scorpions Warbling Bird (?) Calaveras Warbler (heard)
