side head movement. These flew directly away altogether about 4 min. direct. Entired usual side. Facing quite west, eye still on me. Jerkings of head - writing is due to the fact that it is very cold sitting here on my warmest rocks so I have been for over an hour. My hands, in spite of warmer woolen mittens are almost getting frozen, otherwise all goes well.
I detect there has been no sign of a male. Female has not uttered a sound within my knowledge - sat on nest about 12 min. Flew off a little W of Sarah & came in W. of north after about 2 min. Landed on overreach about 1 1/2 (W) gave 9 rest for a moment, fluttering wings, landed on twig about a quarter of a foot below that for a second & looked around then sat in nest. Sat for a 1/2 minute or so jerking head pretty reg. from S.W. W.D. neck again up at about 50° angle, not as high as last time. Revolving before landing eventually on bare limb or more out of limbs.
