August 1948 Journal 156 July 15 San N. Rosario, Baja California mammals, birds and reptile seeming very scarc. The hard-packed clay soil and the dry, dusty vegetation appear to be poor for wildlife. No American Ravens or Vultures were seen during the approximate 1 1/2 days of our stay here. July 16 Location Minimum temperature last night was 53°, a cold wind and fog being experienced in the evenings and mornings of both nights. Dr. Benam arrived here yesterday afternoon with the partially repaired spring and we are ready to leave this morning. July 17 International Boundary, Tijuana, Baja California Had no trouble in crossing over into the U.S. this morning, neither truck being inspected. The whole procedure lasting about five min- utes.
