May 28 Russian Gulch State Park, Mendocino Co., California, Elevation 150 ft.
Female caught in mouse trap by front paws at edge
of tangle of blueberry and water grass at edge of
drainage ditch. Chenopis growing from other side
of ditch. Meadow on either side of this. Well-defined
trails in and out of brush following ditch.
This on road leading to ocean directly West of
bridge over mouth of Russian Gulch. Maggots, sow
bugs, etc. ruined the specimen for a skin, but
skull saved.
