Neotrichus gibbsii
May 19 Russian Gulch State Park, Mendocino Co., California, Elevation 500 ft.
Male caught in well-trampled depression lined with
redwood twigs under old log in redwood forest north
of camp about 1/4 mile. Ground is well-shaded and
very little sunshine penetrates through the trees.
Bracken and wood sorrel growing through the ground
covering.
May 21 Elevation 40 ft.
Female caught in riparian habitat (thimble berry, salmon berry,
blackberry, red alder, Gymnocarpus) near creek bordering on
grassy meadow. Ground is very damp and well-shaded.
