Patelka 1947 Oct. 8 1 mi'E Wedderburn, soft elev., Curry Co., Oregon: were present, the Steller jay was common. The first seen were feeding along the stream and apparently at least one and possibly two scrub jays were associating with them. Subsequently, a pair of scrub jays was found in a small opening (1/2 acre or so) in the fir timber, again near the main stream, where there were willows, scattered apple trees of an old orchard, and other trees. Later two were seen in the upper parts of one of the west draws, flying across dense Conyulus-Holo- discus chaparral down into the willow thickets. Species noted in the dense willows and Hylorichla guttata, chaparral were Pipilo maculatus, Thryomanes swicki, Chamea fasciata, Corthyliu calendula, Melospiza melodia (very common), Passerella iliaca, and Troglodytes troglodytes. The last-named was of course more common near or in conif- erous forest. One Black-throated Gray Warbler was noted in willows. Golden-crowned Sparrow and Oregon juncos were present along chaparral edges feeding in the grass. Passerculus sandwi- chenensis was common on the higher grassy slopes and flats. A flock of violet-green Swallows flew overhead. Other species noted were Tundus migratorius, Hylorichla ustulata, Sialia
