June 12-15 2 mi SE Beegum, 1650 ft, Tehama Co., Calif.
Several pairs present in the oak-pine woodland on the valley flat and at the base of the south slope. In all instances, the woodland was comparatively dense,
including some scrub oak, manzanita,
or other tall shrubs in addition to the taller trees.
June 25 1 mi W Hyampson, 1200 ft, Trinity Co., Calif.
Not common, but apparently occurs regularly in the mixed coniferous-
deciduous forest of the south facing slope above camp. Noted chiefly in
Garry oaks.
