Fairly common in the digger pines
and blue oak. Pairs are spaced
regularly, and individual pairs are
usually centered in small groves which
include several large oaks and digger pines.
Individuals have been observed feeding on
both blue oak and digger pine bark. The
species has been noted on the valley flat
and upward on the north slope,
