Patelka 1943 Calypso anna. June 15.amise Beegum, 1650ft, Tehama Co., Calif. One male heard singing from a relatively dense stand of digger pine, blue oak, and manzanita near the base of the south slope, just east of the gate to the Forest Service Road. This bird was heard both when I was going up the Forest Service road and when I returned, and was apparently an established male. Another male was observed flying over an area of [illegible] acacia. During the course of his flight, several rounds of characteristic gating song were given.
