P. De Benedicts 1965 Claugula hymenalis 11 July Baures, Alaska - a few lone birds, both 7s + 9s, were seen on small pools in the Karrakik region but the great majority were in scattered groups of mixed sexes on the two large lakes W of Elbowdick. Several flocks of up to 15-18 7s were seen in flight. 13 July Increased in numbers from every yesterday along the lead. 14 July less evident along the lead. Only one 7 seen in the Headbow lake area. 16 July A few small groups along the ice in Elson bayon and 7-10 in Walthsblag. They do not give the impression of migratory - rather just moving about in areas of open water. 17 July All seen were along the lead or flying over the lead. 20 July A group of about 20 7s in N Headbow lake and several small groups seen on the ice off shore, the largest about 20. 7s predominated, about 75% of the total.
