Red Phalarope
7 July Barrow, Alaska - Very much less conspicuous in Mixonut
Marsh and no closely associated pairs seen. A nest with
3 eggs which had been found earlier by Bob Hamilton

& the road was empty.
8 July The above mentioned 3 egg nest is empty today
about midday.
10 July They seemed to be very scarce Today as compared
to July 6, but part of this may be a reflection of a
movement on the rid's part to the east side of
Central Marsh, which was not checked.
11 July There were large numbers in footprint lakes, clearly
Flocked; they were well scattered but everywhere to be
seen in the Ikrovun region; the great majority (over 75%) were Ps.

in the afternoon and a 4 egg nest seen again
later in the evening.
13 July A three egg nest seen near lines IIA-B which
had been marked earlier. No change in the nest found
west of Voth'sough 12 July.
14 July 4 egg nests found along the west side road
to Central Marsh in the morning, and a 4 egg
nest E of line IIA and a 3 egg nest in the marsh
Poplars lines in the afternoon. Only 1a 2f seen
