P. de Benedetti 1966 Calidris alpina 8 July Meadow River Coal Mine [illegible] (57°02'5"W, 78°29'4"N, Alaska) Pluvier nest (2) and on the cormorant plot (2). No clucks seen yet. 9 July The only double noted by the cormorant plot was a pair giving clucks from West Eriophorus (over spagnum; west Coos) to the west of the pluvier nest. 11 July Still a pair on the Eriophorus flats near the Pluvier nest and others (2) on the Eriophorus flat on South ridge, once in the west Eriophorus between the Coos marshes south west of the cormorant plot. None seen on the cormorant plot. Other than a tendency to stay in the Eriophorus, can't tell what they are doing, and am unable to find clucks though they are probably old birds.
