P. DeBenedetti 1965 Calidris melanotus 8 July Meade River Coal Mine, 157°05' W, 70°24' N, Alaska When I caught it, this & came in to about 7 feet; She only gave a distraction display once. No other chicks were seen. 11 July Two &s came up from the nearby Eirghorum- Canyon area by lake Agassiz near the Black-bully nest, and stood near the Plover when it gave alarm calls. They did not greet themselves. A & gave the alarm reception. I associate with chicks from a wary wet (saturated splayme.) Eirghorum-Canyon area near shallow Canyon pools just south of here. Plovers were not seen in the shallow pools elsewhere, nor on the deeper Eirghorum of Swett Ridge. 13 July
