De Benedicts 1965 Calidris faindii 11 June Barrow, Alaska - saw 1 (+Steve McLean 2 other) near the SE end family logoon in the PHL about 4 13 June at least 3 and possibly more were present in the Barrow area. Saw one on the ground with the tail strongly corked and the wings dropped slightly, near a second find. Little aerial display. In the afternoon saw at least a pair near the tavel area, including one bird near a second giving the tail up display to an extreme degree, often raising one wing and holding it up during its performance. little aerial display. 15 June at least 3 birds in the tavel area, flying about supposedly attacked but no display seen. see C. abla. 17 June 2 in the quay near the FAA tower, feeding; no display. 18 June Saw several aerial flight songs and our ground display. The aerial display in 3 segments; the bird rises slowly on mother straight out stretched wing, flapping slowly (2-3 beats/second) and fairly deeply, the tail open + the neck moderately extended, the bill forward, calling & low, thrifty (but higher pitched than Dunlin) "kreet" kreet kreet...", about 2 wingbeat/sail, circling slowly and rising 50- 80 a 100 feet in air; it then goes into a c slant glide, the wings held in a low dihedral and
