30 June Burrow, Alaska - at least three of these birds were seen with a flock of Semipals and Westerns on Central Marsh near the US c + GS shack. They feed in the same areas in the same way as Semipals; Except it is the Asian ecologic equivalent. They are small peep, appearing about the same size as but bulkier than Semipals and are somewhat warmer above and brighter white below; 2 of them were bright red- rufous only on the throat, the upper breast grayish, streaked at least laterally & the back & belly and the third was red-belly on most of the face + throat, with less grey below. I could distinguish no vocalizations; the 1st bird seen appeared to have a broken leg (or only one) and a "deel" and the bright bird remained more or less together; these were seen again in the afternoon.
2 July A bird unlike any of the others noted was seen today, with a group of Westerns and Semipals. It was very bright on the face and throat, grayish on the breast and white under the tail. Couldn't been anything from this yet.
