Calidris mauri - 3
June Meade River Cool Mine, 15°9'25"W, 70°24'N. A lone female, but behind grass where I couldn't see her.
Calling a short quiet version of the aerial song, which is rather white-camp-like.
June A male singing along South Ridge, but probably just passing through. I wonder if they will stay here at all.
June 4 birds zipping around, little song, near the A.F. Warrigan and later one being chased by a semi-pal to the W. side of L. Agassiz.
June One singing near the South end of the "census plot".
June At least two established singing birds and at least 4 birds together at the NW part of Lake Agassiz. Hard to be sure what they are all doing. Saw one pecking at cobbolllars or snows. One singing briefly on the census plot.
June One singing near the outlet of Lake Agassiz on the N side of village creek, and at least 2? at the SW part of Lake Agassiz. One feeding on snow drift, made 28 and 54±6 peeks in 30 second intervals. Considerable song, the 3 humming low over the area frequented by a ?. No proud display seen.
June A ? singing along the 6 rows of the census plot.
June A singing male flew over the census plot once, going towards camp.
June One came in when I shot a semipal, acting alarmed, but flew off before I could find out what it was thing.
