Colidius pusillus -2 3.Time Meacle River Coal Mine, 157°25'W, 70°29'N, Alaska The birds near the village seem to be hungy yet with the territories. The ones I saw on the ground had been flushed and feed nervously, except for one which fed in tail stedges so that I could barely see the top of its head. I blasted it. A little song but most of the birds were fairly quiet. There were two pairs near the creek 2 mi S of camp, feeding with dunlin on polygon ridges, and on the well covered stabilized slimes. No song. Saw one feeding out on a bare sand pan in its Meacle R. One seen feed close at hand mostly picked at the surface but occasionally jabbed at something at the base of sedge tufts. 4.Time The birds near the village definitely centered around the disturbed areas, where they feed out in open stuff, running about and pecking at the surfaces. There are at least 2 pairs by the village and 1 pair by its CO2 Stannigan, where they works along the cat tracks and in the low-grass covered slopes. There was a little flight song and some chasing. Saw one pair feeding on a ice pack in a flooded Cany meadows, The birds pecking at holes in the ice where grass stems poked through and along the edge, of the waters, in the water. 5.Time This species is surprisingly numerous. There are 2-3 pairs around this census plot, where they are localized along its lake basin and along its runs.
