Pluvialis dominica - 3 2 June Mleecle River Coal Mine, 157025'W, 70029'N, Alorba where there is a good moss cover to the pond, little courtship activity evident this date, and most of the birds seem to be pairs of brightly and a mottled colored birds. There was a pair near the census plot and two of these which seemed to be checking the bare spots appearing on the trees covered flats - occ. out in the under. Several were displaying over the leaves on the shrubs of the Mleecle S of camp in the evening, and scattered birds, prob. in part local birds, were going through camp most of the afternoon and evening- no large groups seen anywhere today. 3 June Birds not conspicuous today. Two along the creek seem to spend most of the times W of the village. Shot at and prob. killed a 4, which flew off strongly. Only birds seen flying rapidly by S of camp along the river in the evening and with sign of the birds in camp. 4 June All birds present appear to be paired. They feed out in an open dry, but undisturbed areas more than to calidinium and are fairly alert. Bird food much like robins, pecking at food items but occasionally probing at stubbary food articles. A few chases but no song-flights seen. Local birds still in camp. 5 June The birds about camp present mostly by de Cozamizan. Very little in evidence away from camp, only 3-4 pairs seen, usually in flight. They are not on the ridges as
