P. De Buedi 55 1905 Pluvialis dominicae 20 June Barrow, Alaska - 3 downy young. I later saw one; they are yellow! and unlike the well grown Calidris will not run but couch motionless, allowing me to take photos from 10 inches; one when picked up ran a short distance then crouched. They are much larger than the other chicks I have seen and the plow bill is quite evident. Both parents around. 21 June A group of 10 with 2 dimlin and 2 with 6 Pectorals were seen along the Beed west. The nest near Baint Point Latching - 1 young day, 1 young wet and 2 eggs. The parents (both present for a change) where quite upset by my presence and came to 15 feet of nest. They both gave strong distraction displays. [illegible] on the ground standing and often tilting the back towards me, which made the bird actually somewhat less conspicuous. They were both in somewhat mottled plumage. The chicks did not appear to pay much attention to me, but remained in its nest though occasionally moving. 22 July A flock of about 30 in the level grassy area about the pondo N of lines 4 in the 6th area. They were feeding actively in the grassy area; many were in quite mottled plumage. About 25 more joined them and flew off, leaving about 10 here. They were not very noisy but heard
