P.D. Buecheler 1966 Squatorola squatorola 5 July Meade River Coal Mine, 15°25'K, 70°20'N, Alaska but the birds seem to be feeding out in the Cavy marsh area. Almost always see &s together. One bird attacked and drove off a Parainia Touger that flew off. Not seen elsewhere. 8 July Still incubating on the nest by thyeen plot. They no longer give a good distraction display and only one bird stays close. Their species is sexually dimorphic, the &s being much brown closer than the &. 11 July little reaction from them in the afternoon. One bird still incubating. When we came by in the evening, one bird was. but flew off quickly, from some distance away, and with secrecy. When I went to do nest, the & came in and gave a distraction display. The &s stood off cooling, then came a little closer and also gave a distraction display, but not as well developed as prolonged as that of the &. Eggs are cracked but no hole. Should hatch by tomorrow evening > tip next A.M.
