Squatorolo squatorolo 27June Meade River Coal Mine. 157925'W.70924'N. (Hawk) with the back feathers stripped and the wings open. Usually on the 5th gave the display but in one area both birds did this. A Ternstrom in the area was once attacked by the plover. 29June One near the 1st lake or village creek, giving alarm calls. 30June Found a nest with 4-eggs in the Cornicularia-Cetaria just W of the Nlom by the cumin plot- like a golden plain nest. The eggs were spotted. The birds gave no help at finding it and slip off quietly, when I approach, though they are wary to see when you know where the nest is. The nest is lined with Thamnolia lichen, very conspicuously against the black background. Got little distraction display. They occasionally, attacked glaucous gulls flying over and took a few peeks at insects on the Cornicularia area. 1 July Got strong distraction display from a pair near the North dunes. 8July The 5 still near the nest by the cumin plot, the eggs not pipped. Got strong distraction display. 1-2 other birds feeding out in lake Agarsy. 5July Two pairs on the flats opposite N ditch dunes, on the 2nd beach level. Got distraction display from both pairs on the Cornicularia-Cetaria areas.
