Squatorola squatorola 6 June Mecelle River Coal Mine. 15°02'5"W, 70°29'N. Alayk A pair feeding on high polygons between camp and the A.F. Wannigan most of the day and a little song in this area. They probably prefer dryer tinder than Golden glover if my few observations are indicative. Though there is some overlap in feeding areas. 7 June One pair in camp. A pair in camp Marsh near Itmakirak lake and another in the village flats area on the high polygonal areas. Not as noisy as earlier. Birds now seen only in pairs. 8 June A pair in camp and 5 of the census plot. Both are usually on high polygonal country when they feed fairly actively for a plower. 9 June The local birds cooing about camp about 5.30. A few at the Rundia behind the village. [illegible] but still continuing [illegible] when I flush them. Mort 9s many done with molt now, but it's have advanced little. 9 June A pair on high polygon in camp and near the valley flats. Quiet except when I flush them. 10 June Scattered bush Coraly, all paired. Shill noises. 11 June 1 pair seen about 2 miles out South ridge, possibly starting a nest. Shot at bat missed one. A little calling. Feeding widespread in this area, where no other places are present — but only because of low density? 12 June A pair heard from the census plot. No seen. No Congo around camp.
